2025-2026 HKWIHL INTRO
Get ready for another thrilling season of female ice hockey! Hong Kong Women’s Ice Hockey League (HKWIHL) is proud to announce its 13th official season running from September 2025 to April 2026.
This league caters to all Female players in Hong Kong, China and sets the ground work for consistent player development. HKWIHL continues being a training ground and a part of a feeder system for the Hong Kong China Women’s Ice Hockey Team (HKCWIHT).
A SEASON OF EXCITING DEVELOPMENTS
The Women’s Ice Hockey Organization better known as WIHO has been managing and overseeing HKWIHL since its inauguration in 2013. This season marks a significant step forward as WIHO deepens its collaboration with Hong Kong, China Ice Hockey Association (HKCIHA), under the sanction of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). While WIHO will continue its vital role as co-organizer, this strengthened collaboration with HKCIHA ensures HKWIHL’s continued growth and stability.
ENHANCE FUNDING & SPECIAL FEE REDUCTION
For over a decade, WIHO/HKAHC has heavily subsidized HKWIHL. We are now pleased to announce that for the 2025-2026 season, we have secured additional government funding. This allows us to significantly reduce participation fees for all players.
Please note: This level of financial support from the government is special for this season. While we will continue to seek government funding, fees for 2026/2027 season may revert to levels closer to past seasons. We encourage everyone to take advantage of this unique opportunity.
PATHWAY TO HONG KONG, CHINA WOMEN’S ICE HOCKEY TEAM
HKWIHL is more than a league – it is the foundation of women’s ice hockey in Hong Kong, China. While we work hard to develop female hockey in Hong Kong, the number of female players remain low so we must work together to support each other to have HKCWIHT play on the international stage. Participation for players living here locally is one of the criteria for selection to the Hong Kong, China Women’s Ice Hockey Team (HKCWIHT).
This is an incredibly exciting time for our sport. Hong Kong, China will host the upcoming 2026 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship Division II – Group B from 30 March 2026 to 5 April 2026. HKCWIHT will compete on home ice, and HKWIHL is where future stars begin their journey. Let’s ADD OIL, TEAM HONG KONG CHINA!
LEAGUE FORMAT & REGISTRATION
Please see details of 2025/2026 HKWIHL Information/Application below. To ensure balanced and competitive teams, all players will be placed through a draft system.
Fees are due upon registration and are non-refundable unless player is not drafted onto a team.
This 2025/2026 season will conclude with two “mini” blitz tournaments featuring prizes and gifts.

1. SCHEDULE & VENUE
Schedule: 2 September 2025 – 22 April 2026
Game Day: Wednesday Nights
Game Time: 21:00 – 22:30
Venue: MegaIce, MegaBox
Tryouts: 2 & 3 September 2025
Pre-season: 9 September 2025 (Tue)
First Game: 10 September 2025 (Wed)

2. Eligibility
- Female players born in 2013 or earlier
- Players under the age 18 with parents or guardian signing under-age waiver shall be considered.
- Must be a HKCIHA registered player
- 2013年或之前出生的女性球員
- 年齡未滿 18 歲的球員，如果父母或監護 人簽署了未成年人豁免書，則應予以考慮。
- 必須是 HKCIHA 註冊球員
(HKWIHL reserves the rights to reject under-age players.) (HKWIHL 保留拒絕未成年球員的權利)
3. LEAGUE DETAILS
- Full 60-minute games (3 periods of 20 minutes stop clock per game) played under IIHF & HKWIHL rules and guidelines
- Overtime & shootout if needed
- 15-16 games (inclusive of Semi Finals + Championship Game)
- 2 Mini Blitz Tournaments @ Mega (first come first serve when registration starts)
- Try outs / Scrimmage: Tuesday, 2 September 2025 (19:30 – 21:00 & Wednesday, 3 September 2025 (21:00 – 22:30)
- Pre-season Scrimmage/Game: Tuesday, 9 September 2025 @ 19:30
- First game: Wednesday, 10 September 2025 @ 21:00
- Official league player draft will take place amongst the Team Managers / Coaches
- League Schedule will be announced following the HKWIHL Draft
- Socks and jerseys will be provided for the season
- HKWIHL reserves the right to change game / practice format pending 3 or 4 teams.
- Each team will consist of 15-18 players and 1-2 goalies
- MPORTANT NOTE: Co-Organizers reserves the final say to all Team Rosters. No refund will be given under any circumstances unless the player is NOT drafted onto a team.

- 聯賽賽程將在 HKWIHL 選秀結束後公佈
- 聯賽將提供賽季所需的球襪和球衣
- HKWIHL 有權根據 3 或 4 支球隊的情況更改比賽/訓練賽制
- 每支球隊將由 15-18 名球員和 1-2 名守門員組成
- 重要提示:共同主辦單位保留所有球隊名單的最終決定權。除非球員未被選中入隊，否則任何情況下均不予退款
4. League Fee
Players: HK$3,800 per player
Goalies: HK$1,900 per goalie
