2026-2027 HKWIHL INTRO
Get ready for another thrilling season of female ice hockey! Hong Kong Women’s Ice Hockey League (HKWIHL) is proud to announce its 14th official season running from September 2026 to April 2027. This league caters to all Female players in Hong Kong, China and sets the ground work for consistent player development. HKWIHL continues being a training ground and a part of a feeder system for the Hong Kong China Women’s Ice Hockey Team (HKCWIHT).
A SEASON OF EXCITING DEVELOPMENTS
The Women’s Ice Hockey Organization better known as WIHO has been managing and overseeing HKWIHL since its inauguration in 2013. This season WIHO continues building its collaboration with Hong Kong, China Ice Hockey Association (HKCIHA), under the sanction of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). While WIHO will continue its vital role as co-organizer, this strengthened collaboration with HKCIHA ensures HKWIHL’s continued growth and stability.
PATHWAY TO HONG KONG, CHINA WOMEN’S ICE HOCKEY TEAM (HKCWIHT)
HKWIHL is more than a league – it is the foundation of women’s ice hockey in Hong Kong, China. While we work hard to develop female hockey in Hong Kong, China the number of female players remain low so we must work together to support each other to have HKCWIHT play on the international stage. Participation for players living here locally is one of the criteria for selection to the Hong Kong, China Women’s Ice Hockey Team (HKCWIHT).
This is an incredibly exciting time for our sport. Most recently our HKCWIHT won Gold for the 2026 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship Division II – Group B. As such HKCWIHT has been promoted to Division II – Group A which will be held between November 07-13, 2027 in Chinese Taipei, Taipei City. Let’s ADD OIL, TEAM HONG KONG CHINA!
LEAGUE FORMAT & REGISTRATION
Please see details of 2026/2027 HKWIHL Information/Application below. To ensure balanced and competitive teams, all players will be placed through a draft system. Fees are due upon registration and are non-refundable unless player is not drafted onto a team. This 2026/2027 season will include two “mini” blitz tournaments (mid-season and end-season games) featuring prizes and gifts.

2. Eligibility 參加資格
- Female players born in 2014 or earlier 2014 年或之前出生的女性球員
- Players under the age 18 with parents or guardian signing under-age waiver shall be considered. 年齡未滿 18 歲的球員，如果父母或監護人簽署了未成年人豁免書，則應予以考慮。
- Must be a HKCIHA registered player. 必須是 HKCIHA 註冊球員
(HKWIHL reserves the rights to reject under-age players.)

3. League Details 聯賽詳情
- Full 60-minute games (3 periods of 20 minutes stop clock per game) played under IIHF & HKWIHL rules and guidelines
- Overtime & shootout if needed
- 15-16 games (inclusive of Semi Finals + Championship Game)
- 2 Mini Blitz Tournaments @ Mega (first come first serve when registration starts)
- Try out / Scrimmage: Wednesday, 2 September 2026 (21:00 – 22:30). Bring Own Jersey/Socks.
- Pre-season Scrimmage/Game: Wednesday, 9 September 2026 @ 21:00
- First game: Wednesday, 16 September 2026 @ 21:00
- Official league player draft will take place amongst the Team Managers / Coaches
- League Schedule will be announced following the HKWIHL Draft
- Socks and jerseys will be provided for the season
- HKWIHL reserves the right to change game / practice format pending 3 or 4 teams. In the event there are 4 teams, costs will also be affected.
- Each team will consist of 15-18 players and 1-2 goalies
- IMPORTANT NOTE: Co-Organizers reserves the final say to all Team Rosters. No refund will be given under any circumstances unless the player is NOT drafted onto a team.
- 依照國際冰球聯盟 (IIHF) 和香港冰球聯合會 (HKWIHL) 的規則和指南進行完整的 60 分鐘比賽（每場比賽 3 節，每節 20 分鐘停鐘）
- 如有需要，可進行加時賽和以射罰球決定賽果
- 15-16 場比賽（含半決賽 + 冠軍賽）
- 2 場超級迷你錦標賽（報名開始時先到先得）
- 選拔／練習賽：2026 年 9 月 2 日星期三（21:00 – 22:30），請自備球衣／球襪
- 季前友誼賽／比賽：2026 年 9 月 9 日星期三 21:00
- 首場比賽：2026 年 9 月 16 日星期三 21:00
- 球隊經理／教練將進行官方聯賽球員選秀
- 聯賽賽程將在 HKWIHL 選秀結束後公佈
- 聯賽將提供賽季所需的球襪和球衣
- HKWIHL 有權根據 3 或 4 支球隊的情況更改比賽／訓練賽制。如果參賽隊伍有 4 支，費用也會受到影響。
- 每支球隊將由 15-18 名球員和 1-2 名守門員組成
- 重要提示：共同主辦單位保留所有球隊名單的最終決定權。除非球員未被選中入隊，否則任何情況下均不予退款
