To all members of the Club League Team Managers;

We wish to address an incident that occurred during the club league game on January 10, 2026, between the Greater Bay Lions and the EAST Stars. It has come to our attention that there were inappropriate interactions between parents and players during the game.

The Hong Kong, China Ice Hockey Association (HKCIHA) is dedicated to creating a safe and respectful atmosphere for all youth hockey players. We believe in the significance of sportsmanship and positive interactions both on and off the ice. Our top priority is to ensure a healthy, positive, and secure environment for all participants—players, coaches, officials, and spectators. Unsportsmanlike conduct from spectators not only disrupts the game but also negatively impacts the experience of everyone involved, especially our young athletes.

In light of this incident, we will conduct a thorough investigation to ensure that our players can participate in a supportive atmosphere while playing in the league. We urge everyone involved parents and players to be mindful of their behavior and to promote a culture of respect. Moving forward, the league will take the following actions to address similar incidents:

1. Immediate Warning Letters: Clubs whose spectators engage in disrespectful or inappropriate behavior will receive an official warning letter from the league.

2. Zero-Tolerance Policy: Repeated or severe incidents may result in the banning of the involved spectator(s) from the ice rink area for a specified period or indefinitely.

3. Club Accountability: Clubs are responsible for ensuring that their spectators adhere to the league’s code of conduct. Failure to address recurring issues may lead to further disciplinary action against the club.
